SAVE THE DATE: Webinar “Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions for Middle East research and innovation community” on 15 February 2017

Enhanced bi-regional STI cooperation between the EU and the Middle East Region.

The Marie Sklodowska-Curie action (MSCA): Individual Fellowship, named after the double Nobel Prize winning Polish-French scientist famed for her work on radioactivity, support experienced researchers (holding a doctoral degree or with at least four years’ full-time research experience by the time of the call deadline) in their careers, irrespective of nationality. Researchers working across all disciplines from climate change to health are eligible for the funding.

The MSCA Individual Fellowship provides generous funding, scientists have the possibility to gain experience abroad and in the private sector, and to complete their training with competences or disciplines useful for their careers.

Individual Fellowship and RISE (Research and Innovation Staff Exchange) is open to researchers coming to Europe from anywhere in the world and researchers moving within Europe.

MSCA RISE example: the CLUSDEV MED is a Horizon 2020 MSCA-RISE project that lies within priority research & innovation topics in EU-Mediterranean cooperation. The main scope to enhance awareness and knowledge about the project is to: Draw together academic research teams from the EU and Mediterranean countries with multidisciplinary skills and expertise in the field of Clusters issue. Build joint collaborative projects for developing Clusters as new potential instruments to reinforce research in food, water and energy sectors and disseminate knowledge of Clusters activities and achievements.

This webinar will be the first of a series of the MERID webinars providing information and good practices about Horizon 2020 Reseach and Innovation programme in general and on specific calls launched there. Specific attention will be dedicated to the calls for proposals for bi-regional cooperation. The goal of the webinars is to promote and enhance the participation of researchers from academia and industry from the Middle East countries in Horizon 2020.
