EuropeAid Water Clima LAC – Coastal Zones project presented at the ISEHCNC 2017 in Lodz, Poland

On 27th of September, Egle Juospaityte, Project Manager at Europe for Business Ltd, presented theWater Clima LAC – Coastal Zones, project funded by the European Commission, Directorate General for International Cooperation and Development, under the EuropeAidprogramme at the International Symposium entitled “Ecohydrology for the Circular economy and Nature-based solutions towards mitigation/adaptation to Climate change” in Lodz, Poland. The Symposium was organized by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, European Regional Centre for Ecohydrology Under the auspices of UNESCO, World Meteorological Organization, European Commission Joint Research Centreand etc.

We believe in the importance of the international development to Latin America and the Caribbean and therefore, highlighted the project activities that are combating the poverty and inequality in the region. The project activities are the following: water resource management, analysis of climate change effects, ecosystem services and local strengthening, and communication and networking.

 

The speaker presented the four pilot cases – La Paz (Mexico), BajoLempa (El Salvador), Mar del Plata (Argentina), and Aquin (Haiti) – its problems to be solved, actions took into account, expected results, and recent activities.

 

The symposium brought together top experts from scientific institutions and international organizations and provided an open floor for the discussion about integration of ecohydrological biotechnologies and systemic solutions with a circular economy development towards mitigation/adaptation to climate instability.
