Internship Role: Science Communication Assistant

As a Communication Intern at EFB, you will support the delivery of communication strategies for ongoing EU projects. You will gain hands-on experience in science communication, stakeholder engagement, digital media, and project dissemination.

Main Responsibilities

• Drafting press releases, articles, and newsletters

• Liaising with journalists and distributing communication materials

• Updating press and media contact databases

• Assisting in the organization of project events, workshops, and press conferences

• Maintaining project websites and social media platforms

• Supporting the production of communication materials and project reports

• Conducting interviews with researchers and translating science into accessible stories

• Supporting Project Managers in communication-related tasks

• Contributing to the drafting of new communication proposals for EU calls (e.g., Horizon Europe)

Who We’re Looking For

Essential Requirements

• Native-level or excellent written and spoken English

• Academic background in communication, journalism, media, or related fields

• Excellent writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail

• Able to work independently and within a team

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

• Dynamic, proactive attitude and strong organizational skills

Desirable Assets

• Knowledge of or experience with EU-funded projects

• Working knowledge of a second language (preferably Spanish or French)

• Familiarity with new media, social media strategy, or web design (WordPress, Canva, etc.)
