EFB supports UK SMEs and researchers to launch successful Horizon Europe proposals

In a major boost to European collaboration, the 2025 Horizon Europe Pump Priming Scheme is now open, offering targeted financial support to UK SMEs and researchers seeking to participate in Horizon Europe’s world-class research and innovation calls.

Facilitated by Innovate UK Business Connect, the scheme is designed to remove early-stage barriers to proposal development by covering costs related to travel, networking, and building consortia—empowering UK stakeholders to engage effectively in Horizon Europe’s ambitious agenda.

💼 What’s Available?

🔹 For UK SMEs:

Up to £5,000 (excluding VAT)
For activities related to Pillar 2 (Global Challenges) or Pillar 3 (EIC Pathfinder/Transition) Horizon Europe calls
Apply by 15 July 2025 or earlier (funds are limited)
Activities must be completed by 31 October 2025
Claims submitted no later than 27 November 2025

🔹 For Academic Researchers:

Grants up to £10,000 (including VAT) via the British Academy
Focused on Pillar 2 Horizon Europe proposals
The 2025 round closed on 11 June, but future calls are expected
